BidScope Ghana · Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: 16 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-16
This policy explains how BidScope Ghana collects and handles personal data when you visit our website, create an account, use procurement-intelligence features, subscribe to a plan or communicate with us.
1. Who is responsible for your information
BidScope Ghana is the data controller for personal data described in this policy unless a different party is identified. Questions and data-rights requests may be sent to hello@bidscopeghana.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, authentication provider identifier, profile image, job title and phone number.
- Business and procurement data: organisation details, sectors, locations, certifications, preferences, saved opportunities, searches, bid-pipeline activity, documents and questions submitted to BidScope AI.
- Subscription data: plan, billing status, transaction reference and limited payment metadata. Complete card details are handled by the payment provider.
- Communications: support requests, survey responses, alert settings and marketing preferences.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, security logs, page and feature interactions, referral data and cookie choices.
- Public-source data: business contact or procurement information lawfully obtained from identified public, official or licensed sources for procurement intelligence and business outreach.
3. Why we use personal data
We use data to create and secure accounts; provide search, matching, alerts, collaboration, billing and AI features; personalise results; respond to support; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain audit records; improve performance; meet legal obligations; and, where permitted, communicate relevant BidScope services.
Our processing may rely on performance of our contract with you, your consent, compliance with law, and legitimate interests such as operating and improving a secure procurement service. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. AI, matching and automated assistance
We may use business-profile information, saved activity and opportunity data to calculate match indicators and produce AI-assisted research. These tools support human decisions; they do not make binding procurement, employment, credit or legal decisions about you. Avoid submitting unnecessary personal data or confidential third-party information.
5. How we share information
We share only what is reasonably necessary with infrastructure, database, authentication, email, analytics, customer-support, AI and payment providers acting for us; with your organisation’s authorised workspace users; with professional advisers; or with authorities where legally required. We may share information during a genuine business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
6. International processing
Some service providers may process data outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we assess the provider and use contractual, technical or other appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described, including while your account is active and for reasonable periods afterwards for security, backup, billing, dispute and legal requirements. Retention varies by record type. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required, subject to lawful archival and backup cycles.
8. Security
We use access controls, encrypted transport, restricted administrative access, logging and vetted service providers to protect data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private and notify us promptly if you suspect misuse.
9. Your rights and choices
Subject to Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable law, you may request access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction or objection; withdraw consent; and raise a complaint. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law permits or requires it. You can also manage alerts, marketing preferences and cookies through the service.
10. Cookies
We use essential storage and, only with the relevant choice, optional analytics or marketing storage. See our Cookie Policy or use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change optional choices.
11. Children
BidScope is a business service not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
12. Changes and complaints
We may update this policy and will show the effective date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Contact hello@bidscopeghana.com first so we can address a concern. You may also contact Ghana’s Data Protection Commission regarding your rights.
